Kyaik Htee Yoe (Golden Rock Pagoda) is a unique pagoda, drawing thousands of devotes as well as foreign visitors to visit it especially during the rain-free seasons. The pagoda is set on a huge boulder precariously jutting out by the side of the mountain tops, over 1100km above sea level.
The Buddhists believe that the Buddha gave a hermit a few strands of his hair and that these hair relies were enshrined inside Kyaik Htee Yoe stupa. The climb and the descent can be done on foot or by specially provided trucks. Overnight stay affords the visitors with panoramic view.
